“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land“ (II Chronicles 7:14).
King of Glory Ministries is gathering intercessors for one purpose: to see a harvest of souls in our cities, states, and nations. Intercessio causes a stirring in the depths of the spiritual realm, preparing the way for the five-fold ministry to reap and disciple a harvest of souls (Ephesians 4:11).
Intercession begins with worship. One cannot effectively intercede without being a true worshipper. True worshippers love the Lord their God with all their being (Deut. 6:5).
Since Jesus is the ultimate intercessor (Romans 8:34), the closer we are to Jesus, the more effective our intercession will be. Jesus said if you love Me, you’ll obey My commands (John 14:15). We must live our lives
in complete submission to God, by continually walking in His commandments (John 15:10). As we do this, He will bestow His righteousness upon us as He purifies our hearts (Philippians 3:9). As He cleanses our hearts and they become more and more pure, we’ll be able to see Him more clearly as He really is. The more we see Him as He is, the more we’ll know Him. The more we know Him, the more we’ll know and be able to connect with His heart. As we connect with His heart, our intercession will flow as pure rivers and bring deliverance, healing, restoration, life, and breakthrough wherever they go.
Pursuing righteousness is vital to operating in effective intercession. We are constantly renewed and changed into His image (Ephesians 4:24) by His grace as we pursue righteousness (I Timothy 6:11). As we continually become partakers of His divine nature (II Peter 1:4) by worshipping Him, searching out His word, and abiding by His commandments, we’ll get to know Him more intimately. The more intimately acquainted we become with Him, the more His desires will eclipse ours, and the more effective will our prayers be.
Since the Holy Spirit is the perfect intercessor and is the one carrying out God’s work in the earth, we should strive for the point of least resistance. By this I mean that self must be removed so that Christ may live (John 3:30). The more we decrease and He increases, the more Holy Spirit will be able to flow
through us as He so desires (Romans 26-27). |
